Criticism of New Georgia Healthcare Legislation
Thursday, September 18th, 2008A report by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP) says Georgia’s new market-based, consumer-oriented healthcare legislation - signed into law by Gov. Sonny Perdue in May - will not decrease the number of medically uninsured. The CBPP, an organization focused on fiscal policy and public programs that affect low- and moderate-income families and individuals, concludes that the legislation will benefit only those already with coverage.
